Section 01: Scope and Operator

This Privacy Policy applies to asic.fyi and its related account, interview-practice, support, and subscription experiences. Jingqi Li, doing business as ASIC.FYI, operates the service and can be contacted at info@asic.fyi.

02

Section 02: Information We Collect

  • Account information, such as your email address and profile details, when you register or sign in through Netlify Identity, Google OAuth, or Sign in with ChatGPT where available.
  • Practice and preference information, such as solved-question status, selected filters, theme, motion preference, and the page or question you return to after authentication. Some of this stays in your browser's local or session storage.
  • Coding-practice drafts you choose to send through Simulation Submission, together with the question identifier and the related submission context. Drafts that you do not submit remain in your browser tab's session storage and are cleared from the service interface when you sign out.
  • Practice Credit use records, such as the account and question identifiers, whether a credit was used for a Simulation Submission or Solution view, a request identifier used to prevent duplicate charging, and the time of use.
  • Usage and device information, such as page paths, question identifiers, category and difficulty labels, approximate search-length buckets, IP-derived location, browser type, and diagnostic logs. ASIC.FYI does not intentionally send raw question-bank search text to Google Analytics.
  • Billing information, such as Stripe customer, checkout, invoice, and subscription identifiers, test or real payment status, plan, renewal dates, and limited transaction metadata. Stripe processes payment details; ASIC.FYI does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
  • Communications you send to support, including your email address and the contents of your request.
03

Section 03: How We Use Information

  • Provide, secure, personalize, and troubleshoot the service.
  • Authenticate accounts, preserve interview-practice progress, and return you to the content you selected.
  • Provide optional automated feedback on a coding-practice answer when you expressly request a review.
  • Administer shared Practice Credit allowances, prevent duplicate charging, and investigate credit-use or delivery problems.
  • Measure aggregate site performance and improve educational content and navigation.
  • Operate test-mode simulations or live subscriptions, confirm entitlement, prevent fraud, provide support, and comply with accounting or legal obligations.
  • Communicate service, security, policy, billing, and annual-renewal notices.
04

Section 04: Service Providers and Disclosures

ASIC.FYI shares information only as reasonably needed to operate the service, complete a transaction you request, protect users, or comply with law. Current providers include Netlify for hosting and authentication, Google for OAuth and limited analytics, Stripe for test-mode and live payment and subscription processing, OpenAI for processing optional Simulation Submission requests when that feature is configured, and email or support providers used to answer requests.

ASIC.FYI does not sell personal information and does not use Google advertising personalization or Google Signals. Providers may process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Information may also be disclosed in response to valid legal process, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards.

05

Section 05: Cookies, Local Storage, and Analytics Choices

The service uses first-party browser storage for authentication return paths, solved status, interface preferences, and other necessary functions. In production, Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure site usage with advertising personalization and Google Signals disabled.

You can limit optional analytics through browser privacy controls, cookie blocking, or content-blocking tools. Blocking necessary storage can prevent sign-in, saved progress, or preference features from working. ASIC.FYI does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals because there is no consistent industry standard for those signals.

06

Section 06: Retention and Security

Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including account operation, Practice Credit accounting, support, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and financial recordkeeping. Retention periods vary by data type and legal requirement. Credit-use records may be retained to enforce allowances, resolve duplicate-charge or delivery disputes, prevent abuse, and meet recordkeeping obligations. Coding drafts remain in the current browser tab session unless you send them through Simulation Submission; submitted content may be processed or retained by providers for limited service, safety, security, or legal purposes under their applicable terms.

ASIC.FYI uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including HTTPS and provider access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and do not send passwords or full payment-card details by email.

07

Section 07: Your Choices and Requests

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account by emailing info@asic.fyi from the address connected to the account. ASIC.FYI may need to verify the request and may retain information where required for security, legal, tax, dispute, or recordkeeping obligations.

You may sign out, clear local browser data, or request account deletion. If you have a test or live subscription, manage or cancel it through /account/billing. Deleting an account does not substitute for canceling an active subscription.

08

Section 08: Children

ASIC.FYI is designed for adult learners and employment preparation and is not directed to children under 13. ASIC.FYI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact info@asic.fyi if you believe a child has provided information so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

09

Section 09: Changes and Contact

This policy may be updated as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated date will appear on this page, and material changes will be communicated through the site or account email when appropriate.

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to info@asic.fyi.
